20th March 2008 - Hynes Reserve - Rocklands Reservoir

Located 63k South of Horsham along Hynes Road is Rocklands Reservoir Camping area which has powered and non powered level camping areas. The toilets, unfortunately, have been neglected and require a lot of cleaning to make them reasonable. The hot showers ($0.10) may or may not work. There appears to be plenty of usable water providing it is boiled before use. There is also a tank adjacent to the toilet block. The lake was dry during our stay and the boat ramp was high and dry. It appears that this place would be popular during good times as there were a considerable number of permanent sites established around the camping area. All signs had been removed so we were unable to find out the cost of powered / un-powered sites. We may try this camping area again after the lake has been replenished and the area has been cleaned up.
