Mt. Buangor State Park containing Middle Creek Campground is located approximately 20k North West of Beaufort and 16k North East of Buangor. Follow Ferntree Gully Road for about 8k along a reasonably good dirt track. The campground that is large and level, has long drop toilets, tap and tank water (not suitable for drinking), is well shaded with a large shelter shed. There are also bush walks, tables, and wood BBQ's.

27th December 2010 - Lake Tooliorook - 6k South of Lismore - Victoria

Level, shaded camp sites overlooking Lake Tooliorook, septic toilets, hot showers, a boat ramp, swimming area, fishing, jetties, kids playground, town water, an on-site caretaker during the holiday season and not far from town. A great place to spend a week or two at this well cared for location. Turn South off the Hamilton Highway at Lismore towards Lake Tooliorook for approx 6k and turn along a dirt road for approx 1k to the Lake. There is room for about 40 Caravans / Motorhomes and even over the Christmas period, there was still room for extras. The lake has been replenished with trout after the long drought and should be a good size for the Easter Break.

4th April 2008 Greenhill Lake - Ararat, Victoria

At last, a lake with water… Not much but nevertheless, water!!!. 3k East of Ararat is the turnoff to Greenhill Lake Camping ground that has level camping sites, hot showers, town water, tables, some shade, walking tracks, beside the lake with a boat ramp. Although some distance from the highway, truck noise at night may be a problem for the light sleeper. Ararat, an RV friendly town, has a good shopping centre and visitors are made most welcome. If in the area, take a look and spend some time here and support the local businesses.

13th March 2008 - Wannon Falls Campground - Victoria

Travelling between Coleraine & Hamilton in Victoria, we stopped at Wannon Falls Campground and found a beaut camping area with a large shelter shed, complete with baking oven, tables and benches. With plenty of wood already cut, we enjoyed the company of Bob and Jenny from the Southern Explorers. A track from the camping area takes you to the day area and the falls where you can cross at the weir and proceed further to Green Corps Viewing Area. The track the other way takes you to another lookout called Thomas Clark Viewing Area where a panoramic view of the falls is to be enjoyed. Unfortunately, as it has been in most of our travels, there is a lack of water and a photograph of the falls is included to give you some idea of the falls in a normal wet season.

A further 10k on towards Casterton is Hotspur Bridge rest area situated on the Crawford River. Although this area has limited shade, there is a small jetty that enables access to the clear water of the River. Long drop toilets are a short walk from the rest area which although close to the road, is peaceful as there is very little traffic in the area.
